As everyone’s noticed. I’m using a free wordpress theme from DiseaseDesign.com I also just noticed WordPressThemesBase.com is where I must have downloaded it. They included their link within the footer menu.
This gives them a backlink on my website. I checked my footer.php and it’s also encoded I’m guessing WordPressThemesBase did this. Nice touch 
Since I’m going to be creating a new theme. I want to discuss the things that I’m thinking about when developing my new word press theme.
1. Planning for a New WordPress Layout
So, I’m planning on creating a new wordpress layout. I’m going to create this myself so I can get more experience with Photoshop and converting it into a wordpress theme.
2. Plan Different Sections On Your Layout
The main goal right now, is to figure out the different sections that are going to be on my wordpress blog. I’m going to take examples from all my favorite websites and blogs out there.
I want to try and include all the most important stuff now, not later on once the design is done. It’s a lot of work changing it later. It’s best to have all your details before you start working.
3. Brainstorm & Inspiration
You want to check out all the other websites and see what they’re doing. You want to take note of all the sections you want on your website and all the design features you want to implement into your own web design layout.
I’d recommend checking google for best blog designs – Google Search – css gallery – Google Search.
4. Develop a Hand Drawn Sketch
After you have the details on the sections and the features you plan on implenting on your website. You want to think of section and content placement on your new web layout.
Once you decide, develop multiple hand drawn sketch’s of your website and how it’s suppose to be laid out.
5. Start Your New Web Design
Once all details are finalized. It’s time to start on your project. If you don’t have knowledge in creating a web design layout or converting it into a wordpress theme.
