A blog reader is called many similar names such as feed reader, rss feed reader, news reader, feed aggregator and feed. A blog is a website on the Internet usually powered by Word Press that posts articles/posts on a daily basis for it’s visitors to read or watch.
Blog reader’s are used by more technical people who like to read Internet blogs or keep up with Internet websites on a consistent basis.
By using a blog reader you can check updates for every website you want to check up on or you want to know they have any new content on their website without having to visit their website in an Internet browser.
Your blog reader is very much like an email client that’s signed up on a website for updates. By logging into your blog reader you will be able to read all the latest content on your favorite websites.
To sign up or subscribe to a blog or website. You usually must click an image that looks like this
. This icon is called an RSS Feed. It’s usually located on the top of your URL Address bar in the middle column using a FireFox browser.
I would highly recommend using Bloglines for your RSS Reader. It’s all browser based so it’s like checking your email. I check my RSS feed once a day usually in the morning when I eat my breakfast. I know I posted about not liking them but it seems they’re working again. It’s just much work to switch over. I’ve tried to go to google but I find google more complicated when bloglines is very simple for my needs.
Depending on the blogs that you like to visit. I would subscribe to all RSS feeds for all the frequent websites you would like to stay updated on.
