There are a few providers that I would highly recommend which are 1and1.com and namecheap.com.
- namecheap.com allows paypal payments (no need to use credit card)
- 1and1.com is great because they offer free private registration but recently they have not been as great.
I’ve just recently heard of name cheap and they are a great provider. You are able to get your website up and going instantly compared to using 1and1 and it will take 24-48 hours.
Great news also is that when using namecheap you are able to deposit money using your own paypal account. This means you don’t need a credit card on file with namecheap and you won’t receive random charges onto your own credit card.
This is great for many people who are thinking about only using a domain name for one year.
